Why That Stubborn Area is Not Changing, Even When You Are Doing Everything Right
You’re eating well.
You’re exercising.
You’re consistent.
But there’s still that one area.
The bit that just won’t shift.
The part you feel self conscious about.
The area that doesn’t match the rest of your body.
This is one of the most common frustrations we see.
And at this stage, it is not about trying harder.
The reason it’s not changing
When you lose weight, fat cells don’t disappear.
They shrink.
So even when you are doing everything right at the gym or with your diet, those fat cells are still there, just smaller.
This is why:
- Some areas never fully change
- Some areas come back quickly
- Some areas feel more stubborn than others
The key difference most people don’t realise
Diet and exercise shrink fat cells.
Cryolipolysis, also known as fat freezing, kills and removes a portion of those fat cells.
This is the difference between:
- Making an area smaller
- And actually reducing how many fat cells are there
This is where body contouring becomes effective.
It complements your diet and exercise, helping to target the areas that are not responding.
Who this is for
The clients who see the best results are usually:
- Within 10 to 15 percent of their goal weight
- Living a healthy lifestyle
- Struggling with one or two stubborn areas
The treatments explained clearly
Each treatment does a different job. The key is choosing the right one for the right concern.
All of these treatments are non-invasive and not painful. In fact, many clients find them very comfortable and some are deeply relaxing.
Cryolipolysis Fat Freezing
Best for stubborn areas you can physically pinch
A stubborn area is usually:
- A small pocket of fat you can hold between your fingers
- An area that has not changed even when the rest of your body has
- Something that stands out more in certain clothes
Common areas include the lower stomach, love handles and inner thighs.
Cryolipolysis, also known as fat freezing, is an FDA-cleared treatment that is clinically proven for fat reduction.
How cryolipolysis fat freezing works
A cup applicator is placed onto the area.
This gently draws the tissue into the cup and applies controlled cooling to the fat beneath the skin.
Fat cells are more sensitive to cold than the surrounding tissue.
The cooling causes the fat cells to crystallise, which damages and effectively kills them.
Over the following weeks, your body naturally processes and removes these destroyed fat cells.
Why this is different
With diet and exercise, fat cells shrink.
With cryolipolysis fat freezing, you are killing and removing a portion of fat cells in that specific area.
What to expect
- One treatment every 12 weeks
- Most clients need around 3 sessions
- Results improve gradually over time
This is about reshaping a specific area, not overall weight loss.
Cavitation
Best for soft or generally thicker areas
Cavitation is better suited to larger, softer areas rather than a small pocket.
How cavitation works
Cavitation uses ultrasound energy to create pressure inside fat cells.
This pressure disrupts the fat cell membrane, causing the cell to break down.
In simple terms, fat cells are broken down and their contents are released.
Your body then processes and eliminates this naturally.
Why this is different
Cavitation works across a wider area to reduce overall thickness rather than targeting one specific pocket.
What to expect
- A course of 8 weekly treatments
- Often combined with radio frequency for improved skin tightening
This is about reducing the overall size of an area.
Radio frequency
Best for loose or less firm skin
Sometimes the concern is not fat, but skin that has lost its firmness.
Radio frequency is an FDA-cleared treatment that is clinically proven to help tighten and improve skin quality.
It is a phenomenal treatment for tightening and we use it extensively on the face, using a different handpiece, as well as on the body.
It works by heating the deeper layers of the skin to stimulate collagen and elastin.
What it feels like
This treatment is very comfortable and often described as similar to a hot stone massage.
You will feel a consistent, controlled warmth moving across the skin.
Many clients find it deeply relaxing.
Best suited for
- Loose skin after weight loss
- Post pregnancy changes
- Skin that feels softer or less firm
- Areas such as the stomach, arms or above the knees
Cellulite treatment
Best for uneven or dimpled skin
Cellulite is not just fat. It is how fat, fluid and connective tissue sit beneath the skin.
We use a vacuum roller handpiece that works like a strong, controlled massage.
The rollers help to break down the fibrous bands beneath the skin and improve how the tissue sits, while also encouraging movement of fluid through the area.
All of the technology is built into the handpiece, so everything works at the same time as we treat the area.
This includes:
- Radio frequency to tighten and firm
- LED red light to support skin repair
- Vacuum air pressure to improve circulation and lymphatic drainage
As we move the handpiece over the skin, all of these elements are working together continuously.
What it feels like
The treatment feels like a deep, strong massage.
You will feel a lifting and rolling sensation combined with warmth.
It can feel more intense in certain areas, but it should never feel painful.
What to expect
- Two treatments per week
- Course of 10 sessions
This is where we typically see the most visible improvement in skin texture and smoothness.
